OnePlus 5T update improves its fingerprint and face unlock, and 4K recording

Despite the OnePlus 5T making its retail debut only a few days ago, the firm seems to be on it when it comes to software, as it has now issued an update that brings some important improvements.

The OnePlus 5T has been updated to Oxygen OS 4.7.2 and includes the following:

  • optimizations for fingerprint unlock
  • optimizations for face unlock
  • improved accuracy for screen off gestures
  • improved EIS during 4K video recording
  • Wi-Fi WPA2 security patch (Krack vulnerability patch)
  • general stability improvements and bug fixes

This update comes in at 107MB and should be rolling out to OnePlus 5T owners now. If you don't get it, be patient, as sometimes these things can take a few days. This update comes just a day after OnePlus announced that it would be bringing some camera improvements to the handset in the coming weeks.

Those eager to pick up the new unit can head to the OnePlus website, where the OnePlus 5T has a starting price of $499 for the 64GB model and $559 for the 128GB variant.
