The OnePlus 5 has certainly had its share of issues since it was unveiled a month ago. On the day of its launch, the company was accused of 'cheating' in benchmark tests to make its flagship-class handset appear more capable. Owners then complained of a bizarre 'jelly' effect on the device's screen when scrolling through content, which OnePlus initially dismissed, before admitting that the phone's display is upside-down.
Shortly after that, it emerged that the OnePlus 5 has audio recording issues too; it properly captures audio to the left and right channels when holding the device one way, but not another. This means that some videos are recorded with sounds from the right side of the footage coming through the left speaker or headphone.
And yet another problem surfaced in recent days, as some users reported that the handset was rebooting when attempting to call 911. OnePlus said it was looking into this latest - and potentially life-threatening - issue, and yesterday, it confirmed that a fix was on the way.
That fix is now rolling out to the OnePlus 5 as the OxygenOS 4.5.6 update; the change log lists that resolution as the only improvement that the update brings to the device:

As with the company's other over-the-air updates, this one will be rolling out to "a small percentage of users" initially, with wider availability promised "as soon as we can".
