It's been six weeks now since Microsoft made available the Creators Update to users on April 11, and things are looking good, according to Microsoft's John Cable.
While Microsoft was reluctant in giving exact numbers for how many devices have been upgraded, analytics provided by AdDuplex suggest 18.0% of all Windows 10 PCs are now running the Creators Update. From the at least 500 million monthly active users currently on Windows 10, that adds up to roughly 90M devices.
Those still waiting for the update should start to see it soon as the company slowly rolls it out in phases across the world, with priority being given to newer devices over older ones that have not yet been tested for the OS by OEMs. Microsoft has also been taking feedback from devices which have already received the update and using improvements made as a result to smoothen the upgrade process. The company is on track to push the update out to tens of millions more device and this includes Windows phones, for those who wondering when their phone will get the latest software from Microsoft.
This is, of course, a far cry from the kind of numbers we've seen from Apple's iOS, but still much better than the relative popularity of only around 6.6% for Google's Android Nougat, which was released in August last year.
