T-Mobile makes its unlimited ONE plan slightly more unlimited, offers new features

When T-Mobile announced its unlimited ONE plan a couple weeks ago, customers were skeptical to say the least. Users would have unlimited data, except mobile hotspots would function at 2G speeds and video would stream at 480p. You could tack on additional plans to bypass these limits ($25-per-line to watch HD video), but it all seemed excessive.

Today, the Un-carrier announced that it's backtracking a bit. For one thing, mobile hotspots will now function at 3G speeds - jacking up the speed from 128kbps to 512 kbps. Customers will also be able to purchase an HD Day Pass, which will allow you to stream HD-quality video for a day at the cost of $3.

But if that's not enough for you, the company has also announced T-Mobile ONE Plus, which is closer to a true unlimited plan. It includes unlimited 4G LTE data for mobile hotspots, and you'll be able to stream HD video.

There's just one catch to the Plus plan. That HD video comes in the form of unlimited HD Day Passes, which means that if you want to stream in HD every day, you'll have to turn it on every day.

T-Mobile ONE Plus will be an additional $25 on top of the regular plan, which isn't a bad deal considering that previously, it was an extra $25 just to stream HD video, and then another $15 for a limited amount of hotspot data. The plans will also be launching earlier as well, coming on September 1.

But wait, there's still one more thing. Either of the unlimited plans still have a 26GB limit before your usage is "prioritized". According to the company, this is more data than 97% of its customers use.
