Microsoft is offering Sea of Thieves free with Xbox One X purchases for a limited time

Following the promotion that gave a free copy of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with new Xbox One X purchases, Microsoft is now offering the same deal for Sea of Thieves, Rare's upcoming pirate adventure game.

Xbox One X purchases during the game's launch week, between March 18 and March 24, will come with a free digital copy of Sea of Thieves, which normally goes for $59.99. However, Microsoft says that the start and end dates may vary depending on the retailer, so keep an eye out for that.

If the $499 price tag is a bit too hard to swallow, Microsoft also began offering an Xbox One S Sea of Thieves bundle last month. This $299 bundle ships on March 20 and brings along a copy of the game, a 1TB hard drive, a standard Xbox One Wireless Controller, as well as a month each of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Those looking for Sea of Thieves themed accessories, however, will need to shell out some extra cash.

Sea of Thieves launches on March 20 for Windows 10 and the Xbox One family of consoles, bringing additional enhancements such as high-resolution textures and shadows, as well as 4K support for the Xbox One X.
