If you've always had trouble with Wi-Fi dead zones around your house, ASUS might just have a solution for your problem. At CES 2018, the company announced two new networking products that work in tandem, in addition to integrating a slew of other convenient features.
First off, ASUS announced the Lyra Voice, a smart speaker with a twist. Much like the Google Home, and Amazon Echo that came before, the speaker features a stylish design and a virtual assistant. Amazon clearly has had a spectacular CES this year, with its virtual assistant finding its way into a multitude of products, including Windows 10 PCs. The Voice features 802.11ac mesh Wi-Fi, which basically means that several of these devices can be connected together to extend your etwork range - including the Lyra hub if you already own one or more o themf.
Beyond that, the Lyra Voice comes with a built-in microphone and Alexa as mentioned before. The virtual assistant can perform several actions, similar to the Echo device from Amazon. In addition to that, the smart device can be used alongside other IFTTT or similar services in a smart home.
Secondly, ASUS announced a new dual-band multi-hub mesh Wi-Fi system called the Lyra Trio. This router comes with a unique tri-antenna design that promises seamless roaming and fast wireless speeds by way of its 3x3 MIMO technology. With the world moving ever further away from PCs, the Trio can be managed by way of a mobile app. The device will also send you push notifications if any issues arise.
Both these devices will launch in the first half of the year, with the Lyra Voice coming in at $229. The Lyra Trio will sell in a pack of three, retailing for $299.
