Hunt: Showdown is getting new weapons and a disgusting monster soon

Hunt: Showdown is a popular game developed by Crytek - the makers of Crysis - , that mixes the survival and PvP genres in quite an interesting format. During the PC Gaming Show at E3 2018, the developer has offered a glimpse at what's next for the title.

Players will be treated to new weapons that can have devastating effects if used correctly. These include the classic crossbow, a hand crossbow with retrievable bolts, throwing knives, and sticky explosive bombs. The trailer showed off the player taking on various monsters and players using the aforementioned range of weapons. Speaking of monsters, a new creature is also making its way to the title. It appears to be a water-dwelling monstrosity with hundreds of tentacles, as you can see below:

Those unfamiliar with the title can check out the store description below:

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person PvP bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format.

[...] Savage, nightmarish monsters roam the Louisiana swamps, and you are part of a group of rugged bounty hunters bound to rid the world of their ghastly presence. Banish these creatures from our world, and you will be paid generously—and given the chance to buy more gruesome and powerful weapons. Fail, and death will strip you of both character and gear. Your experience, however, remains in your pool of hunters—called your Bloodline—always.

There's no word yet on when players can expect to see the new additions to the game, but we do know that they're "coming soon". Hunt: Showdown is expected to leave Steam early access on July 17, and currently retails for $29.99.
