Microsoft releases new Office Insider Fast ring build for Windows

As it's done in the past, Microsoft has just released a new build for Office Insiders on Windows, specifically those in the Fast ring.

Part of version 1902 of Office 365, build 11231.20066 brings support for live captions and subtitles in PowerPoint. Underpinned by the company's AI speech services, this capability will allow folks presenting to display a live voice transcription on screen. Not only can the transcript be present in the language you are speaking in, but there's also support for subtitles in other languages - PowerPoint is essentially performing real-time translation.

Do note that in order for the feature above to work, you do need to have opted into Office Intelligent Services. This can be enabled / disabled in the dedicated section on the General tab under File > Options.

Of course, the handful of fixes accompanying these builds is also worth mentioning. These fixes are:

Word

We fixed an issue with saving automatic text color

Excel

We fixed an issue with Pivot Chart colors

PowerPoint

Various performance and stability fixes

Outlook

We fixed a form loading failure in the Organizational Forms Library

Access

Various performance and stability fixes

Project

We fixed an issue with saving custom field values when disconnecting a sub project

In order to get the latest Office Insider build, you'll need to be an Office 365 subscriber. You can either download the Insider build directly from Office.com, or you can change your settings under File -> Account.
