Nvidia 416.94 WHQL driver rolls out Battlefield V, Hitman 2, and Fallout 76 optimizations

Today, Nvidia released its GeForce 416.94 WHQL Game Ready driver, bringing further optimizations and support for a trio of AAA games that have quite close release schedules to each other.

Battlefield V is one of these games. The World War II shooter already received some optimizations in the previous 416.81 driver update from the company, but today's release brings forth additional performance boosts and the first implementation of DirectX Raytracing. Since the game is yet to receive the update that will enable real-time ray tracing, however, we can't see the promised RTX eye candy just yet.

The EA first-person shooter has been available to Origin Access subscribers since last week, and Standard Edition owners can jump in on November 20.

Meanwhile, the driver also delivers optimizations and stability improvements for Bethesda's Fallout 76 and IO Interactive's Hitman 2. The two games released just a day apart this week.

Probably due to the number of games being optimized, the bug fix list only has a single resolved issue. There are some important known issues to keep in mind though:

Fixed Issue:

  • [GeForce GTX 780]: Activity on the desktop lags. [2423588]

Known Issues:

  • [GeForce GTX 1080 Ti][Hitman 2][DirectX 11]: The game screen turns black after launching the game if Windows HDR is enabled. [2439490]
  • [GeForce GTX 1080Ti]: Random DPC watchdog violation error when using multiple GPUs on motherboards with PLX chips. [2079538]
  • [GeForce GTX 780]: Activity on the desktop lags. [2423588]
  • [SLI][HDR][Battlefield 1]: With HDR enabled, the display turns pink after changing the refresh rate from 144 Hz to 120 Hz using in-game settings. [200457196]
  • [Firefox]: Cursor shows brief corruption when hovering on certain links in Firefox. [2107201]
  • [G-Sync]: G-sync may not disengage after exiting games. [2418574]

Additional Issues:

  • 2423614-GK104/GM107/GK110: HDMI at 4K@60hz may show green screen. 4K@30Hz ok.
  • 2432484-Fallout 4: Crash to desktop during gameplay if Weapon Debris is enabled on Turing cards
  • 200351146-Tom Clancy's The Division: Flicker/corruption in DirectX 12 mode
  • 2434721-Eventid 14 error on boot with Turing cards if CSM is disabled

While the driver does not carry any new SLI profiles, it does have 3D Vision profiles for Fallout 76 and Hitman 2. The full release notes can be found here.
