Rocket League Tournaments mode beta incoming to PC players next week

Psyonix is planning to implement Tournaments to Rocket League later this year, offering players a new way to compete, set to arrive complete with brackets and single-elimination rounds. However, before the feature officially arrives on all the platforms, the developer announced today that it is holding a beta for Tournaments exclusively on Steam.

The beta will be testing the new mode's functionality and UI, which will be available to download from 10am PST on February 21 to 5pm PST on February 23. Anyone who is interested in participating while the beta is active will need to go into the game's properties on Steam, select the BETAS tab, and choose the Tournaments Beta from the drop-down list.

Note that joining the beta will make Steam download the Rocket League client containing the features being tested, and once the beta is over - or if someone opts out of it - the stable version of the game will need to be downloaded from scratch, once again.

Also, while XP, inventory items, and player data will not be altered in the beta, video and audio settings, as well as control configurations may get modified. Moreover, Competitive playlists and cross-play functionality with other platforms will be disabled for those in the beta client.

Once the testing period is over the Tournaments are planned to arrive for the stable version of Rocket League sometime during the Spring this year on all platforms. Psyonix has not said if the beta will be available on any other platforms in the future.
