HTC: Apple should stop suing, start competing

Apple has been sending out the lawyers left right and center recently, suing various mobile manufacturers for patent infringements, but focusing on HTC and Samsung specifically. According to the AFP, Apple filed yet another complaint against HTC with the US International Trade Commission, on top of it's previous complaints. On top of this, they have filed a suit in the US District Court in Delaware.

It's not clear what the lawsuit is about in this instance, but other lawsuits between Samsung and Apple have been because Samsung allegedly has been "copying the clean flat clear surface of the Apple iPhone Trade Dress and the Apple iPhone/iPhone 3G/iPhone 4 Trade Dress." Apple has also previously sued HTC citing that the company infringed on at least 20 of its patents, and that HTC Sense was a copy of Apples interface. At least one of the patents referenced "Unlocking A Device By Performing Gestures On An Unlock Image."

HTC responded to this new threat on Monday with Grace Lei, HTC General Counsel stating that "HTC is disappointed at Apple's constant attempts at litigations instead of competing fairly in the market [and] HTC strongly denies all infringement claims raised by Apple in the past and present and reiterates our determination and commitment to protect our intellectual property rights."

It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out, as always patent lawsuits can take a long time to develop, we'll keep you posted if anything comes of this.
