December Games with Gold bring Dragon Age 2, Mercenaries, and more

The Games with Gold program's final free titles of 2018 heading to Xbox Live Gold members were announced by Microsoft today, revealing the usual four-game lineup for Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

The December arrivals are listed below, which happens to include an original Xbox game, a first for the Games with Gold promotion. Mercenaries was added to Microsoft's Xbox Backward Compatibility program back in April this year.

Q.U.B.E. 2 (Xbox One: December 1 - 31)

Q.U.B.E. 2 is the sequel to the hit first-person puzzle game Q.U.B.E. You are Amelia Cross, a stranded archaeologist who has mysteriously awoken among the sand swept ruins of an ancient alien landscape. Together with the distant help of another survivor, Commander Emma Sutcliffe, you must traverse and manipulate the structure of this forgotten world to find a way back home.

Never Alone (Xbox One: December 16 - January 15)

Built in partnership with the Alaska Native community, Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) delves deeply into the traditional lore of the Iñupiat people of the Arctic to present a game experience like no other. Play as a young Iñupiat girl and an arctic fox as they set out to find the source of the eternal blizzard which threatens the survival of everything they have ever known.

Dragon Age 2 (Xbox 360, Xbox One: December 1 - 15)

You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever.

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (Xbox 360, Xbox One: December 16 - 30)

Anything goes in this Playground of Destruction. You are a lethal Mercenary. Your mission is to topple a sinister military regime by any means necessary. If it drives or flies, you can hijack it. If it shoots or explodes, you can use it as a weapon. You are free to go anywhere, destroy anything and blow the crap out of everything. In this playground of destruction, there are no limits, no barriers and no mercy.

There's still time left to grab the November free games for any Xbox Live Gold members who missed out. Xbox One owners can claim Battlefield 1 until November 30 and Race the Sun until December 15, while Dante's Inferno is available for Xbox 360 owners to add to their libraries till November 30.
