Huawei Mate SE makes its U.S. debut priced at $229.99

The Honor 7X just recently made its debut in the United States and although it was a good value for its price, it did lack a little in the performance department. Now, it appears that Honor's parent company Huawei is coming out with an improved version of the Honor 7X dubbed the Mate SE.

The Mate SE has the same 5.93inch 18:9 1080p display and HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, but aims to improve the performance by upping the RAM to 4GB and also increases the internal storage to 64GB. The smartphone still has dual camera sensors on the rear, comprised of a 16MP and 2MP sensors. As you can tell from the images, the appearance is nearly identical to that of the Honor 7X and the bump in RAM should help increase the day-to-day performance.

If interested, you can always pick up the handset from Amazon for $229.99. The device can also be purchased through Best Buy and B&H Photo Video for the same price. The Huawei Mate SE is available in two colors: Grey and Gold.
