Twitter users on Android can now sort tweets in chronological order

About a month ago, Twitter introduced a new feature called the "Sparkle button" for its iOS users. The social media company had been working on the button since September. Shaped like a cluster of little stars, the button is placed on the right corner at the top of the screen. Tapping it allows the user to change from the algorithmic order tweets are usually displayed in to a reverse chronological view. Usually, Twitter displays top Tweets before the most recent ones. This bothers a lot of users as they like to stay up to date with current ongoing events and the algorithm sometimes deters this by burying the latest posts below the top tweets.

Since the Sparkle button came to iOS, desktop and Android users have been waiting patiently for the option to become available on their platforms. Fortunately, the wait is over for one of those groups, as Twitter announced that they will start rolling out the feature on Android starting today. This will enable members on Twitter's Android app to choose the orderin which tweets appear on their Twitter feed, conveniently switching between top tweets and the most recent ones.

Twitter has not mentioned when it plans to bring the Sparkle button to desktop users, but it took roughly one month for Android to get the feature, so it can be expected that it won't take too long.
