iPhone 8 survives durability test, strong to the core

After being revealed to the world last week, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will finally arrive to eager hands starting on September 22. A day before it makes its retail debut, the iPhone 8 is being put through a variety of tests, pushing it to its limits.

Although the new iPhone offers a slightly revamped design, it seems like Apple has done a fairly good job of maintaining the phone's structural integrity. The front and rear glass hold up against scratches just like the competition, while the metal frame provides a rigid body that resists aggressive bending. Furthermore, it appears that the firm has also surrounded the front and back glass with a thin border of plastic, perhaps to protect against damage when accidentally dropped.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be arriving to retail shelves starting tomorrow. The iPhone 8 will start at $699, while the larger iPhone 8 Plus will start at $799. Those looking for the $999 iPhone X will have to wait a little longer, as the pre-order for the device is not set to occur until October 27.
