PUBG may be headed to PlayStation 4 as it gets rated for the platform in Korea

One of the most popular battle royale games on the planet PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is available on PC, Xbox One, and even mobile, but a PlayStation 4 version hasn't yet appeared due to Microsoft's console exclusivity deal with the developer. However, that exclusive period could be coming to an end, as a PlayStation 4 version has gotten rated in Korea.

As reported by Gematsu, the listing has gone up on the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea website. The Xbox One console exclusivity was announced during E3 2017 by Microsoft, with PUBG going on to release via the Xbox Game Preview program in December later that year.

Assuming the listing is accurate, this could mean that the deal with Microsoft was only for a year of exclusive access, with the developer free to jump on other platforms following that.

However, take this news with a grain of salt until PUBG Corp. comes out and officially announces any new platforms for the 100-player title. Nonetheless if it is true, PUBG will have some tough contenders to go up against this year, unlike its previous launches. Both Call of Duty and Battlefield series are implementing their own battle royale modes for their upcoming games. And PlayStation 4 players may just opt to go for those titles even if they are more expensive to avoid performance issues, which PUBG is still struggling with on its current platforms.
