Xiaomi releases MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM for the Mi Mix 2

When it comes to Android handsets, one has to assume, before even purchasing the handset, that it will most likely not have the most current version of the OS. While Google released Oreo during the summer, many handsets have yet to still receive the update in an official manner. Luckily, many firms are offering beta versions and Xiaomi is no different.

The company has now launched the MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM version 8.1.18 for the Mi MIX 2. This is the version of the OS that will feature Google apps and services. Xiaomi has listed the following as some of the highlights of the beta ROM which can be seen down below.

If this is something that interests you, you can now download the Fastboot and Recovery image from the Xiaomi forums. Remember, this is a beta, so you could encounter issues and are encouraged to report them. Before you flash this OS to your handset, you'll want to make sure to back up your personal data and to take extra care to follow instructions, as an improper step could cause your handset to malfunction.
