Minecraft: Story Mode is heading to console, PC and mobile platforms later this year

Alongside "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta" for PCs, Mojang has also announced another Minecraft game in partnership with Telltale Games. As revealed last year, the game is titled "Minecraft: Story Mode", and it follows the familiar story-and-decision based gameplay style for which Telltale Games is well-known.

Telltale Games has also revealed more details of the game including:

You'll control protagonist Jesse throughout the season, as portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.

The season will feature Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Look for further casting details to come!

Minecraft: Story Mode will also be available as an episodic adventure, similar to Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us. You can watch the trailer for the upcoming game below.

Minecraft: Story Mode will make its way to Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Android, iOS, PC and Mac later this year, although no specific release date has been announced yet.
