OPPO will announce a foldable smartphone of its own at Mobile World Congress 2019

Looks like the floodgates have been opened ever since Samsung debuted its foldable smartphone on stage during its Developer Conference. Now, OPPO has thrown its hat into the ring, offering to show off its foldable smartphone during next year's Mobile World Congress.

Chuck Wang, who is the product manager at OPPO, revealed the news to a group of Dutch journalists that were invited to its headquarters. As you might expect, the firm did not give any details about the phone, so what it could look like is anyone's guess. But, so far, Samsung and Royole have debuted similarly styled devices that fold up to become a phone and expand to look more like a tablet.

Not only will OPPO offer a foldable smartphone but it will also debut a device with a screen that has a circular cutout similar to Samsung's Infinity-O display. OPPO isn't the first to announce this, as Huawei is also following in Samsung's footsteps, stating that it will produce a phone with a small circular cutout as well. Luckily, all will be revealed in a matter of months, as Mobile World Congress is scheduled to begin at the end of February.
