Samsung Galaxy S10 will reportedly feature Infinity-O display, built-in fingerprint sensor

We're still some time away from the launch of Samsung's next flagship smartphones, but that isn't stopping rumors and leaks from happening. Well-known leaker Evan Blass has shared some preliminary information about the purported Galaxy S10, revealing some very interesting details if true.

It seems like Samsung will be pushing the screen to all of the edges of the phone, and it's taking a very unique approach to the dreaded notch. Rather than having a cutout coming in from the edge of the screen, the Galaxy S10 will have a circular hole in the display so that the front-facing camera sits underneath it. If you paid attention to the company's developer conference last week, you'll remember that this kind of display cutout has already been made official under the name Infinity-O.

Of course, the edge-to-edge display will also feature the in-display fingerprint sensor that's becoming more commonplace with recent devices, and on the back, you'll find a set of three cameras - a standard shooter, a telephoto lens, and the last one for wide-angle shots. As far as software goes, the device will naturally feature the newly-announced One UI on top of Android Pie.

Samsung has been one of the very few companies to stay away from the notch, and while the move to a circular hole is certainly intriguing, many of its fans may be displeased with the decision to include a cutout of any kind. We likely still have some months to wait before Samsung confirms or denies this information, and only then we'll know how customers react to the announcement.
