Huawei is planning on wowing us with a gaming phone called the Mate 20X next week

The rumored Porsche-branded Mate 20 may have been confused with Huawei's actual upcoming gaming phone, which the company is calling the Mate 20X.

The company took to Twitter yesterday to tease the phone's superior cooling and gaming credentials. It also suggested the phone will last longer while gaming, indicating the 20X may have a larger battery capacity than its siblings.

Huawei is expected to officially reveal the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20X at a London event on October 16 next week. All phones will feature Huawei's first 7nm SoC, the Kirin 980, which it claims is even better than Apple's A12 Bionic. Those claims have since been proven untrue through leaked benchmarks, but the chip is still one of the fastest mobile processors around.

Most of the other major specifications of the phones are also known, thanks to the leak of several of Huawei's promotional materials late last month. They confirm earlier predictions about the battery capacity of the upcoming flagships, and also contain curious references to a new type of flash memory called nanoSD.
