Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Aruba has allied with German engineering titan Siemens to link information and operational technology networks. This seems to be a revolution which could help firms to speed up the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital tasks.
The partnership is meant to integrate Siemens' industrial Ethernet network components with Aruba's wired and wireless LAN infrastructure, Siemens said in a press release. The goal is to help enterprises respond to cybersecurity, data availability, and other issues affecting the combined IT and OT networks.
Siemens and Aruba are also preparing to do business with their networks of channel partners to deliver converged solutions. The collaboration will provide solutions including pre-sales consulting and engineering, expert providers, handled functions and post-sales assistance.
Keerti Melkote, Co-Founder and President of Aruba mentioned in a statement:
“Working together for nearly three years, Siemens and Aruba have addressed the OT/IT divide through technology integration, backed by validated reference designs."
As part of the partnership, Aruba and Siemens will help customers install and maintain their combined OT and IT systems in a secure environment with the goal of addressing the gap between those networks.
