The premier gaming event of the year may still be almost half a year away but Microsoft is already planning what the company is going to showcase at E3 2018. While the new Fable game believed to be in development is likely not going to make it this year, the company's head of gaming, Phil Spencer, did tease that good things will be coming.
In the first Major Nelson podcast this year, Spencer dropped by to suggest Microsoft may be changing up its game for E3 this year. He didn't go into specifics, of course, but did say, "I don't think we've talked about it yet, but I think will be some positive changes at E3. Could be fun for us; it'll be a nice change."
Following a relatively lackluster performance in 2016, Microsoft really cleaned up its act at E3 2017, with a massive lineup of both AAA and indie games previewed at an almost breathtaking pace. One-upping last year's briefing can only be a boon to fans of the company, which has shown an increasing interest in making gaming on not only the Xbox but also the PC a priority.
One announcement owners of the Xbox will likely be waiting for eagerly is Halo 6. 343 Industries, the developers of the Halo series, announced last year that they wouldn't have any news about the next entry in the Halo franchise, leaving many to wonder if 2018 is the year they'll see Master Chief again.
