Android 9.0 Pie introduces new emoji and revises some existing ones

Google recently made Android 9.0 Pie available to Pixel owners. It has quite a few new features that are aimed at improving the Android experience, but also offers 157 new emoji that users can make use of and also has a few tweaks to numerous older emoji.

As you can see from the image at the top of the article, there are six new smiley faces that can now be used, each with a unique expression. The pistol emoji has been changed to a less threatening water pistol, while the family and couple emoji are now gender-inclusive. New animals have been added to the mix, as you can see in the picture directly above, and there have also been little tweaks to previous animals like the turtle, dog, camel, and more.

Those that weren't content with the food emoji already available will be happy to know that new items have been added to the menu, like the mango, cupcake, and bagel sandwich. These additions and changes only represent a small sample of all of the new emoji that can be found in Android 9.0 Pie. If you want to take a more in-depth look, you can see the full list of new emoji or check out the ones that have been revised for the release.
