Earlier today, Google posted a puzzle hinting at the dates for this year's I/O developer conference, just like it did last year. After giving fans some time to figure it out, the company's CEO, Sundar Pichai, has now revealed the official dates for the event on Twitter, which will take place from May 12 through 14.
Microsoft announced the 2020 edition of its own developer conference, Build, late last year, and it's taking place on May 19 through 21. That means the two events won't overlap this time around, something that's happened for the past two years, leaving fans, developers, and press, with a choice to make between the two.
Google I/O is the stage for some big announcements from the Mountain View company. The next version Android is usually explored at the event, and in the past couple of years, Google has released preview builds of the OS to non-Pixel devices during the event. Pixel owners might get the first Android 11 previews prior to the event, though.
After I/O, Microsoft will hold its Build conference where it's likely we'll hear more about Surface Duo and Windows 10X. After that, it will be Apple's turn with WWDC, which will go over the company's own software updates.
