HP announced today what it claims to be the thinnest Chromebook convertible it has ever produced called the Chromebook x360 14. What makes the device interesting is that although its bezel comes in at 7.5 mm thin, it still managed to include a generous array of ports for connectivity including two USB Type-C, a USB Type A 3.1, a Micro SD port, and audio jacks.
The new Chromebook x360 sports a 14-inch diagonal FHD touch display and ships with a 3D stamped metal keyboard deck. Under the hood, it is powered by either the 8th-generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor couple with up to 64 GB of SSD storage and up to 8 GB of RAM. In terms of longevity, the convertible's battery is supposed to last up to 14 hours, though it largely depends on your system configuration, HP said.
HP added that the device's dual speakers are also fine-tuned for entertainment, thanks to its collaboration with Bang & Olufsen. As can be expected from a Chromebook 2-in-1, the Chromebook x360 14 offers full access to the Google Play Store to let you play your favorite games and download Android apps. The device also syncs the Google and Chrome OS ecosystem so that your data and content are immediately accessible the moment you log into your Google account on the device.
The Chromebook x360 14 can be pre-ordered today directly from HP or from Best Buy for $599 and it will begin shipping on October 21.
