LG announces its first hybrid smartwatch, the Watch W7

LG announced its newest flagship smartphone, the V40 ThinQ, today, but alongside of it, the firm also announced a hybrid smartwatch, the Watch W7. The device promises to be the first on Google's new Wear OS platform, and it's designed to combine connectivity with a traditional form factor.

The firm says that the new watch will run for up to two days without a charge, and then it can do another three to four days in analog mode. With all features disabled except for the watch, it can go for up to 100 days without needing a charge.

The hands on the watch can also display an altimeter, barometer, stopwatch, timer, and compass. LG promises that it can be customized in thousands of ways due to it running Wear OS, with different watch faces and complications.

The body is made of stainless steel, and it's powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. It has a 1.2-inch 360x360 LCD, it weighs in at 79.5g, and it can fit any 22mm band. You'll get 4GB of eMMC storage and 768MB RAM, and it has a 240mAh battery.

LG hasn't yet provided any availability or pricing information about the device.
