For Honor Marching Fire update brings new faction, Starter Edition is free to claim on PC

Ubisoft's medieval fighting game For Honor made an appearance at its E3 presentation today, announcing a brand new update heading for the game titled The Marching Fire. Being called the game's biggest update ever, Marching Fire will introduce a brand new faction, a new game mode, and other improvements.

The new faction, named The Wu Lin, arrives from China and brings along four warriors: Tiandi, Jiang Jun, Nuxia, and Shaolin.

Meanwhile, the new game mode that the update will implement is Breach, which pits two teams against each other as one team tries to storm a castle, while the other tries to defend it. There is a massive battering ram involved.

Various graphical improvements are part of the update as well, bringing enhancements to textures, lighting, and other departments.

For Honor Marching Fire has an October 16 release date, arriving free to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 players. However, that's not all, as Ubisoft also announced that PC players now have the chance to permanently claim a copy of the game's Starter Edition completely free of charge.

The freebie is available until June 18 via Uplay, but be warned, as the Starter Edition has a much harsher grind for unlocking new characters, and it comes with fewer things unlocked from the get-go.
