OPPO R17 Pro expected to be priced at ₹44,990 in India, preorders open on Dec 4

OPPO is set to unveil the R17 Pro in India as an Amazon Exclusive smartphone on the 4th of December and the tentative pricing has now appeared online.

The OPPO R17 Pro is expected to be priced similar to its Chinese pricing and a report from MySmartPrice has revealed the amount to be ₹44,990 ($640). This could be an interesting move from the company as the OnePlus 6T which shares a similar design as the R17 Pro, but more powerful underlying hardware is priced cheaper by about ₹7,000 ($100). There are some aspects of the R17 Pro that are better than the 6T such as the faster charging, a slightly larger battery, and triple rear cameras.

Under the hood, the R17 Pro features the all new Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a battery capacity of 3700mAh made possible with the use of two 1850mAh batteries. The imaging features of the device include a triple camera setup on the back with a 12-megapixel sensor, a 20-megapixel sensor, and a time-of-flight 3D stereo camera. The display is an AMOLED panel measuring 6.4-inches featuring a waterdrop cutout with Full HD+ resolution. It also integrates an in-display fingerprint reader. One of the key features of the device is the SuperVOOC fast charging technology that is said to deliver 92% of charge in half hour.

According to MySmartPrice, OPPO could also launch the R17 and RX17 Neo smartphones in India in the near future for a slightly lower price. The main differences between the R17 and the R17 Pro is the dual-camera setup and a smaller battery on the standard variant. The RX17 Neo, on the other hand, features the mid-range Snapdragon 660 AI chipset, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 3600mAh battery without SuperVOOC support.

As of now, we do not know when the R17 and RX17 Neo will launch in India, but the R17 Pro will go on sale tomorrow on Amazon and it is already up for pre-order on the website.
