Microsoft releases Windows 10 SDK Preview build 17110

Today was Windows Developer Day, where Microsoft announced a number of new features coming for developers in the next update to Windows 10. To coincide with this, the company released Windows 10 SDK Preview build 17110, which should include some of those new features.

It's the first new SDK in almost a month, when build 17095 was released. Other than the features announced today, like the new AI platform, there's not a lot that's new. In fact, the SDK should be feature-complete, or nearly so, since we're now only weeks away from the spring Windows 10 update being finalized.

Windows 10 SDK Preview build 17110 is only officially supported on Visual Studio and later, but you can install it on any supported version of Windows. Some previously released SDK builds were only supported on Insider Previews. Also, it works side-by-side with previously released versions of the SDK, so you can continue to target earlier versions of Windows while still using the new SDK Preview in a production environment.

To download the new SDK Preview build, you can find it here.
