Huawei's new Watch GT offers up to two weeks of battery life with normal use

Huawei held its October event, giving us a look at the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and the unexpected Mate 20X. Beyond the phones, the firm also took the wraps off of its new fitness wearable, the Watch GT.

The Watch GT comes in two version, the Watch GT Sport and Watch GT Classic. Perhaps what makes this release so different from its previous ones is that Huawei has opted to utilize its own wearable software versus Google's. Because of this change, the new watches manage to obtain impressive battery life numbers, with the firm claiming it can last up to two weeks with normal use, and survive up to 30 days if it used just to receive notifications.

The watches will have a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and will be powered by Cortex-M4 chipset. The display will be surrounded by a 316L stainless steel case with a ceramic bezel. The GT Classic will have a silver case, while the Sport will have a black one. Both watches will feature an optical heart rate sensor with Huawei promising better accuracy thanks to TruSeen 3.0 technology. Both watches are water resistant up to 5ATM and will have GPS for activity tracking.

Huawei has not announced a release date but has priced the Watch GT Classic at €249 and the Watch GT Sport at €199.
