Insomniac's new Spider-Man trailer shows off a sinister group of villains

For the third year in a row, Insomniac's Spider-Man made an appearance at Sony's E3 presentation, and this time, a big focus was on the supervillains that the wall-crawler will be facing.

The full seven-minute gameplay showcase can be seen above, featuring Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, and even Mr.Negative from the previous trailers, which should give fans some strong vibes of the Sinister Six. Many of these are villains that this version of Spider-Man had put in prison during the eight years he's been active, further emphasizing that this is a highly experienced web-slinger.

However, it seems the developer is keeping the big bad of the game hidden for now, who looks to be the one orchestrating all the chaos as well as providing upgraded suits for the villains to cause more carnage. The possibility of this being either Doc Ock or the Green Goblin is high.

There are plenty of goons being clobbered between the classic villain appearances as well, giving us further looks at the highly agile combat system.

PlayStation 4 owners will be able to get their hands on Spider-Man later this year on September 7. Here is a look at all the special editions that are available for pre-order.
