AMD Radeon 18.12.1 driver now available with Just Cause 4 support

Although it's not December just yet, AMD has put forth a new driver update today intended for the final month of the year. The Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.12.1 driver suite, where the "12" stands for December, is mainly focused on providing support for Avalanche Studio's upcoming action title Just Cause 4.

While there aren't any benchmarks attached to the release, those intending to go on another crazy Rico Rodriguez adventure is advised to install the new driver before doing so. The game releases on December 4.

There aren't any bug fixes included this time, but here are a couple of known issues in the driver that AMD is working on resolving:

  • Some systems running multiple displays may experience mouse lag when at least one display is enabled but powered off.
  • Assassin’s Creed™: Odyssey may experience a game crash at certain locations of the game on Windows®7 enabled system configurations.

The 18.12.1 driver is available to download via the links listed on the official release notes. It can also be downloaded using the Radeon Settings app on Windows. Moreover, while no official announcements have been made yet, we should see the annual major driver update from AMD for this year coming sometime in December, bringing along new features, performance boosts, and more.
