Samsung Galaxy S10+ spotted on AnTuTu with impressive score, powered by Exynos 9820

Samsung officially announced its latest flagship application processor, the Exynos 9 Series 9820, earlier this month. The new SoC boasts a fourth-generation custom CPU, 2Gbps LTE Advanced Pro modem, and an improved neural processing unit. While it is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S10 range alongside Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon processor, the South Korean tech giant didn't give any confirmation.

However, a new benchmark result from AnTuTu has popped up online, courtesy of Ice universe, showing that Samsung's next flagship model will be likely powered by the Exynos 9820. The device, carrying the model number SM-G975F, also scored a remarkable 325,076 on the benchmarking platform, indicating nothing short of an impressive performance.

For comparison, the iPhone Xs Max attained a score of 312,678 on AnTuTu based on our review of the device. The Mate 20, Huawei's latest flagship smartphone (along with its Pro sibling), has a score of 273,295 from our review.

While it's too early to tell whether this could be a definitive indicator to conclude that the Galaxy S10 series will be sure to outperform this year's flagship devices, the benchmark result suggests that the Exynos model of the Galaxy S10+ will pack a punch. The Snapdragon version of the device is also expected to be yet another powerhouse after Qualcomm's next flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 855, was spotted on AnTuTu with a score of 362,292 earlier this month.

Aside from the excellent score, the benchmark also provides a glimpse of some of the supposed key specs the device is expected to ship with: Android 9.0 Pie, Mali-G76 GPU, 6GB of RAM, at least 128GB of storage, and a screen resolution of 2280x1080 pixels.

With Samsung remaining silent on official details of the upcoming phone, it's wise to take this result with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, it won't likely be too long before we see the Galaxy S10 lineup in its full glory as it's expected to debut early next year.
