A new demo for Octopath Traveler is coming soon

Just yesterday, Square Enix briefly showed off its upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive game, Octopath Traveler, but that didn't stop Nintendo from showcasing it in its own presentation, as well as bringing some good news for those interested.

Along with the trailer above, which introduces all of the game's playable characters, the company announced that a new demo for the game will be available on June 14, the last day of E3. A previous demo version was available since last year, but it included just two of the game's characters.

The new demo will include the first chapter of every playable character in the game and, perhaps most importantly, the progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game should you choose to purchase it. The game has also undergone some refinements since last year's demo, so the battle system might have seen some changes.

Octopath Traveler is a role-playing game in which the different playable characters have their own separate stories and can take different actions throughout the game world and in battle. The world is rendered in a mix of 2D elements and 3D graphics, making for a rather unique look.

The game is available for pre-order at various retailers in North America, including a limited Wayfarer's Edition, which includes an eight-page pop-up book with character illustrations, a dual-sided cloth with the map of the game, a soundtrack CD, and a physical replica of the in-game currency. The normal edition costs around $60, while the Wayfarer's Edition will run you closer to $100. You can choose your favorite retailer to pre-order Octopath Traveler from the official website.
