This is a multi purpose launcher and a more advanced and customizable version of windows run. The program originated as I was sick of spending too much time searching for programs through my ever growing windows start-menu, and also I missed a tool that could ease and optimize my daily work flow. There was of course already programs like this available, but each had it's annoyance or missing features or too( ! ) geeky.

Many features like: customizable keywords, history, auto-completion (keywords, history, file system), drop-down or vista like list, each keyword can be assigned a hotkey. Besides keywords Executor can automatically match start-menu items, control panel items, user defined paths and other handy items, start-menu importer, a "Find [text]" keyword that uses Windows Instant Search (Vista) or Windows Desktop Search (XP etc). skinable, very customizable, url and email detection, one keyword can launch multiple keywords/files/urls/programs etc, optional icon and program title display, customizable hotkey, a number of special commands and parameters, filesystem autocompletion, list and select clipboard text history, list running applications and manipulate them, list all recent documents, optional sounds, intergrated calculator and more.

This is BETA software!, please use caution when installing it on your system

This is definately one of the better launchers ('Run' replacements) around. Been using Executor for more than an year now after extensively trying out all the other launchers out there. There are plenty of ways you can customize it, regardless of whether you're on a old or a newer PC (I was using this on my 550 Mhz K6-2!). If you think the settings screen has too many options, wait till you find out about the hidden settings file!

The best thing I like about though, is the support. The author almost always replies to you, and you get to place your suggestions directly. I'm glad to say that many of my suggestions have been incorporated into the program.

What I *really* like about this version is that the ability to add custom scan paths for indexing/scanning has finally been implemented! This puts Executor on-par and above many other launchers, in terms of features. Other much needed feature implemented are Auto-completion in drop-down, auto-resize list height, launching apps by using the currently selected text as a parameter, dead-keywords remover, and much more! Long standing bugs like unwanted hiding/popuping up of the Executor window have been fixed too.

I'm still waiting though, for the day I can perform file-manager actions within Executor itself - like the ability to cut/copy/paste files and folders

PS: You *can* perform explorer operations using the context menu (apps key/right click), but you can't do it with Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V
