Samsung will debut notched displays in upcoming phones

Today was the first day of Samsung's Developer Conference. Although its developer conferences in the past haven't been all that exciting, this year, there has been quite a bit of information that reveals a lot about the firm's upcoming plans. The roughly one hour and 40-minute presentation had some big reveals like its Infinity Flex Display technology and upcoming One UI, but also had subtle bits sprinkled in as well.

Along with its foldable display, Samsung will introduce three new designs, which will arrive on devices in the near future. While the company has kept its distance from display notches so far, it looks to introduce three new designs, all of which will include a notch in the screen. The Infinity-U and V displays will have notches shaped like a "U" and a "V", and look to be located at the top center of the screen, with the U design looking quite similar to that of Essential's phone design. The Infinity-O display is a bit more unique, as it looks like it will be floating "O" inside the display, rather than along the edge.

Samsung didn't mention what phones will utilize the new designs, so we will have to wait patiently to find out. You can watch the entire Samsung Developer Conference above or if you just want to hear the bit about its upcoming Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O displays, you can skip to the one hour and 22-minute mark.
