Sony's Xperia Ear Duo is now available in European markets via the Xperia Store Online

At Mobile World Congress, Sony showed off a new pair of wireless earbuds with what the company called "dual listening" technology. The pair is designed so that, while music is directed from the drivers into the user's ear, outside sounds can still be audible.

Today, the company is making the Xperia Ear Duo available for purchase in its online store, but only in European markets for now, with an expansion to other regions expected "over the coming months". They cost €279 or £249.99 and come in either gold or black. Battery life is about four hours of listening time, with the charging case providing up to three additional charges. The earbuds also charge quickly, with a seven-minute charging time providing up to one hour of playtime.

For the money, in addition to the dual listening technology, Sony includes both Google Assistant and Siri depending on which phone the pair is connected to, support for tap controls and even head gestures to decline or accept calls, skip music tracks, and more.

The Xperia Ear Duo also supports the company's Anytime Talk app, which can connect up to five Xperia Ear Duo pairs to each other and allow users to communicate directly through the earbuds. It's possible to record and send voice messages using head gestures and more.

While the Xperia Ear Duo offer quite an interesting feature set, the high price tag may hold a few potential buyers back. Regardless, if you live in Europe and this sounds interesting to you, you can buy them from the Xperia Store Online.
