Acer's Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 get priced for the U.S.

Acer announced its new Chromebooks back in May and has now officially unveiled details like pricing and a release date for the United States.

The Chromebook 13, which offers a more traditional laptop design, will start at $649.99. It will be powered by an Intel Core i3, have 8GB RAM, and offer 32GB of internal storage. If you're willing to shell out $100 more, you'll be looking at a configuration that includes Intel Core i5 instead.

The Chromebook 13 Spin, which has a touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge, will come in at its base form with Intel's i3 processor, 8GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The i3 variant, which is the base model, will cost $749.99, and can be configured with up to an i5, 16GB RAM, and 128GB of storage for $949.99.

While Chromebooks in the past were thought of as simply budget PCs, there is a new crop arriving, offering more power and attempting to compete against full-fledged Windows-based laptops. The new Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 will be available sometime in September and will be aimed at commercial users.
