Google Duo now allows you to leave voicemail-like video messages

Google's video calling app for personal use, Duo, is receiving an update today giving it a nifty voicemail-like feature.

If a video call gets declined or dropped for whatever reason, you will see a prompt that lets you record and send what Google is calling a video message - a short video clip - to the person on the other end.

These clips can be up to 30 seconds long and can be recorded multiple times until you think you've got the right one to send, and can also be saved to your phone's internal storage if you like. The clips, like the video calls, are end-to-end encrypted.

Video messages are rolling out worldwide over the next few days, so even if your device doesn't currently see this feature, it should have it sooner than later via the flip of a server-side switch.
